Window Sill Metal Flashing for Masonry Joint Protection

Our system is installed within a sealant-filled joint. The process involves preparing the joint, applying sealant, embedding the WEATHERCAP® flashing, and tooling the joint. This creates a protected seal that accommodates movement and extends sealant life. We provide detailed installation guidance for professionals.

Proper flashing creates a continuous, integrated barrier against water. With our system, it appears as a neat lead cap over the sealant joint. The lead oxidizes to a neutral grey that blends seamlessly with masonry, indicating a well-protected, durable, and long-lasting seal that prevents water intrusion.

WEATHERCAP® is made from a soft lead composition. This material is chosen for its unique properties: it is highly flexible, durable, and resistant to corrosion and mold. Its softness allows it to 'creep' and adjust to building movement over time, maintaining a continuous seal without cracking or failing.

Type A is a flat cap designed for joints between masonry units on the same plane, such as the top of a stone window lintel. Type B is a 90° cove cap used for right-angle joints, like where a window sill meets the vertical masonry wall or at inside corner junctions.
