Our fittings are made from a soft lead composition. This material is chosen for its unique properties: it remains flexible, creeps into new joint configurations during building movement, and resists corrosion and mold. Its surface oxidizes to a neutral grey that blends well with masonry. Note that it is a lead product and should be handled according to OSHA guidelines.

They provide two primary forms of protection. First, they act as a physical shield, covering the sealant to protect it from UV radiation, weather, and environmental damage. Type A is a flat cap designed for joints between masonry units on the same plane, such as the top joints of a coping or a window lintel. Type B is a 90-degree cove cap used for right-angle joints, like where a projecting stone sill meets a vertical wall or at corner and fillet joints. The correct type depends on your joint's geometry.
